Why Peng & Weber?
"Immigration is a mystery and a mastery of obfuscation, and the lawyers who can figure it out are worth their weight in gold."
– INS spokeswoman Karen Kraushaar, Washington Post, April 24, 2001.
You want lawyers who can help you through the immigration maze.
U.S. immigration law is like a maze. A wrong turn can lead to a seemingly endless wait, a dead end, or worse. A correct turn can lead you directly to what you want to achieve. We know the maze. In every case, we use our years of experience to carefully identify opportunities and dangers and search for creative, ethical paths to successful outcomes.
You want lawyers with a reputation for achieving success in difficult cases.
We seek innovative ways to achieve success in each case we handle, no matter how difficult. If there is a legal, ethical way to achieve success in your case, we will do everything we can to find it. We are also perfectionists. We don't cut corners. Not on the case in front of yours, not on the case behind yours. Not on your case.
You want lawyers who are committed to excellence in U.S. immigration law.
Peng & Weber lawyers have achieved recognition for excellence in immigration law through invited talks at national and regional immigration law conferences and authorship of book chapters and scholarly articles for nationally distributed immigration law publications. Both of our founding partners have served on the Executive Committee of the Washington State Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). Cletus M. Weber, a founding partner of Peng & Weber, created and maintained the Washington State Chapter website from 1999 to 2004. He has also served on the Executive Committee since 2001, served as Chapter Chair from 2005-2006, and is currently Immediate Past Chair.
You want lawyers focused on immigration.
At Peng & Weber, immigration law is our only focus. It is not an afterthought or a sideline for us. It is what all of our lawyers do every day. Because we do not dissipate our energy among other areas of law, we can make sure that we stay abreast of daily changes in immigration law and how those changes affect our clients.
You want high quality and personal service.
Our team of lawyers can leverage its extensive and diverse immigration law experience to solve difficult and complex challenges, but still provides personal service.
You want lawyers who understand not only immigration law, but also the immigration experience.
Elizabeth Peng, one of our founding partners, was born and raised in China. Through intellect and perseverance, she was able to rise from a small village in Hunan to the capital city of Beijing, where she graduated from one of China’s top law schools. In the early 1980s, she won a Ford Foundation scholarship to come to the United States to earn her Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in law at the University of Kansas. She worked for major law firms in Kansas City, Washington, D.C., and Seattle before co-founding Peng & Weber in 1992. She understands the American dream, and she knows first-hand the immigrant experience.
You want honest evaluations and guidance, not false hopes.
We analyze cases carefully, and if we see possible issues, we tell you about them up front. We never offer “guarantees,” “money-back guarantees,” or similarly empty promises as a means of gaining your trust and business. But if we take your case, we will do everything we possibly can to find a legal and ethical solution for you. We handle each case as though it were our own.
You want to know what is going on with your case and why.
We have used our extensive experience and solid knowledge in technology to establish innovative and robust systems to ensure that all people involved with your case – including you – are well-informed throughout the process. We respond promptly to phone calls and emails about your case if you have questions.
You are willing to pay a reasonable fee for high quality legal services.
We strive to provide the highest quality service in immigration law, and our fees are very reasonable given our reputation, experience, and success in the field.
